Thomas Jacobsen, Helmut Schmidt Universität: “Feel! On the psychology of aesthetics and its emotions”
Intense aesthetic experiences go along with considerable emotional involvement. Recently, the field has begun to import long-standing notions of aesthetic theory into the (neuro-cognitive) Psychology of Aesthetics, and to link these to standard accounts in the Psychology of Emotions. In this presentation, professor Thomas Jacobsen from Helmut Schmidt Universität, Hamburg, will touch upon findings on the emotion of being moved. A number of studies have investigated the aesthetic modulation of negative emotions. Here, sadness, disgust, and anger will be discussed.
