Professor Adam Ockelford, University of Roehampton (UK): "Music and Autism"
Adam Ockelford is a composer, performer, teacher and researcher, who is currently Professor of Music; Secretary of the Society for Education, Music and Psychology Research (SEMPRE); and Chair of Soundabout, an Oxfordshire-based charity that supports music provision for children and young people with complex needs. During this talk, professor Ockelford will consider the impact of autism on early musical development, and examine the evolution of exceptional musical abilities in some of those on the autism spectrum. The talk will be illustrated with a series of case studies.
