How does attachment affect infants’ and children’s ability to interact with their social and non-social environment? What factors are important for the development of individual differences in attachment? In this research area we examine prospective correlations between attachment and, for example, self-regulation, ADHD and social functioning. We also investigate whether environmental factors such as pre- and postnatal parental psychological health, and infants’ own characteristics such as temperament and socio-cognitive abilities contribute to the development of individual differences in attachment.
